Imperialism- Imperialism is a policy or ideology of extending a nation's rule over foreign nations, often by military force or by gaining political and economic control of other areas.
After the American Revolutionary War, Americans started believing in the concept of “Manifest Destiny.” This is the belief that the US should control all the land between the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the West, no matter who lived on the land beforehand. You will play a game today encapsulating this idea called Oregon Trail. You can play individually or up to a group of 5. This is a thinking game! You have to decide when to leave so you all survive, how to cross rivers without drowning, how much food to buy, how many pairs of clothes to buy, when to rest, and many others.
Your assignment, get your whole group safely to Oregon! If and when people in your group die, record how and when it happened. This is what you are turning in so I know you played the game correctly.
